More than 250 volunteers, Girl Scouts and friends visited our new Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania headquarters at 4640 Trindle Road, Hampden Township, for an Open House on Sunday, Sept. 24, with fun and festivities for everyone.
Girls and their guardians participated in a scavenger hunt that took them to three stations in our future Girl Scout museum location, including the main museum display, a rotating display and a recording booth display. They also ventured to our podcast room station and our retail shop station.
At each location, the girls answered questions, including “If you met Juliette Gordon Low, what would you ask her?” and “Where did you have your favorite Girl Scout memory?”
Participants also enjoyed hands-on activities, such as SWAPS making, building with Legos, K’nex, and marshmallows and toothpicks, and playing with spheros. There were plenty of snacks on hand as well, including, of course, Girl Scout Cookies!
Girls were rewarded for their active participation with a scavenger hunt patch, and they also had the opportunity to earn the “Selfie with the CEO” patch by taking a picture with GSHPA CEO Janet Donovan.
With three floors of space, our new headquarters offer plenty of room for programs, activities, staff offices and more.
