Fall Product Program Sales Tips: How to Reach Your Girl Scout Goal

The Fall Product Program is a great way for girls to build confidence, practice entrepreneurship, and work toward goals that matter to them. Whether a girl is selling to a few family members or reaching customers through her online storefront, every order brings her one step closer to her goal!

Keep in mind, Oct. 26 is the last day for paper orders, and Oct. 29 is the last day for online sales. That means there’s still time to make a plan, reach out to customers, and finish strong.

Looking for easy ways to boost your Girl Scout Fall Product sales? Go over these tips with your troop:

1. Set a goal

What do you want to accomplish? Maybe you’re working toward a troop adventure, a special activity, camping, a service project, or another goal. Keeping a specific goal in mind gives you something to work toward and makes it easier to explain to customers why you’re selling.

Try saying:

“I’m working toward my Girl Scout goal, and I’d love your help!”

2. Start with people you know

Your first customers are often the people already cheering you on. Think about:

  • Family members, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins
  • Family friends
  • Neighbors
  • Teachers, coaches, and other adults you know
  • Friends and their families
  • People your family knows through work or community activities
  • Customers who supported you during a previous Girl Scout Fall Product or Cookie Program

3. Share your online storefront

Your online storefront makes it easy to reach family and friends, even when they live far away.

Send your storefront link by text/email and share it with people who may want to support your Girl Scout goals. Just remember to follow Girl Scout and family guidelines when sharing online. Don’t be afraid to share more than once. People get busy, and a friendly reminder can turn a “maybe later” into an order.

4. Tell customers what you’re working toward

People aren’t just buying nuts and candy. They’re helping a Girl Scout reach a goal. When you share what you’re working toward, customers can see how their purchase makes a difference.

For example:

“I’m selling Fall Product to help my troop earn money for our next adventure!”

5. Think about gift buyers

Fall Product isn’t just for people who want a snack for themselves. Customers can purchase items to share or give as gifts to:

  • Teachers
  • Coaches
  • Coworkers
  • Neighbors
  • Family members
  • Friends
  • Hosts and hostesses
  • Holiday gift recipients

When you ask someone to support your Fall Product goal, remind them that they can shop for someone else, too.

6. Reach out to past customers

Who supported you last year? If someone purchased Fall Product or Girl Scout Cookies from you before, they may be happy to support you again.

A simple message can go a long way:

“Hi! I’m selling Girl Scout Fall Product again this year. I’d love to help you stock up on your favorites or find something to share or give as a gift!”

7. Make it personal

Tell people what you’re doing and give them a reason to support you. Try:

“I’m working toward my Fall Product goal. Would you like to help me reach it?”

A personal connection makes the conversation feel less like a sales pitch and more like an invitation to be part of your Girl Scout experience.

8. Take your order card with you

You never know when an opportunity to make a sale might come up.

When appropriate, take your order card with you to family gatherings, community activities, sporting events, or other places where you may meet people you know. Always follow your family’s safety plan and Girl Scout guidelines when selling in person.

9. Try the 5-5-5 challenge

Need a simple way to find more customers? Think of:

5 family members + 5 friends or neighbors + 5 other people you know = 15 potential customers.

And if you’re thinking you don’t know anyone else to ask, consider who you see during the week. Who are the adults you talk to from Monday through Sunday?

A teacher. A coach. A neighbor. A family friend. A dance instructor. A teammate’s parent. A family member’s coworker.

You may know more potential customers than you realize!

10. Say thank you

Here’s the most important part: Thank your customers!

A quick thank-you message shows appreciation and helps build relationships with customers who may want to support you again in the future.

You can say:

“Thank you for supporting my Girl Scout goal! I really appreciate it.”

The Fall Product Program runs through October 31. As the deadline gets closer, reach out to anyone who hasn’t ordered yet. And most importantly, have fun reaching your goal!
