Gear up for Girl Scout Week 2024!

As we approach Girl Scout Week, held this year from Sunday, March 10 through Saturday, March 16, it’s time to embrace the celebration by participating in our very own Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania Spirit Week.

Join us each day with themed activities to spotlight the multiple ways to enjoy and highlight Girl Scouting.

Share your Girl Scout Week celebrations by submitting a Mission Moment or engaging with us on social media. Just check the GSHPA Facebook page each day, comment to respond to the daily prompt, and hashtag #GSWeek2024 on your post. And keep an eye out for our Spirit Week recap blog showcasing all the awesome ways our Girl Scouts marked this special week.

Sunday, March 10: The impact of your faith

Girl Scout Week kicks off with an opportunity to reflect on the Girl Scout Promise and for girls to share the impact of their faith as part of their Girl Scout journey.

Take a moment to consider how your faith fits in to your role as a Girl Scout. Many troops kick off the week by participating in Girl Scout Sunday on March 10. Girl Scout Jummah, the Muslim day of prayer, will be observed on Friday, March 15. Girl Scout Sabbath/Shabbat, celebrated in the Jewish faith, will be observed from Friday, March 15, through Saturday, March 16.

How to EngageShare a photo or write a brief response explaining how you connect the Girl Scout Promise and Law with your faith. Please include your first name and the county you reside in if responding on social media.

Monday, March 11: Man Enough Monday

We may be called Girl Scouts, but we still count on the men in our lives to support our mission. Celebrate the grandpa who always buys Girl Scout Cookies, the dad who drives you to troop meetings or the brother who cheers you on at Girl Scout ceremonies. Give a shout out to the guys in your life who are “man enough” for Girl Scouts!

Tuesday, March 12: Girl Scout Birthday

Happy Birthday Girl Scouts! March 12 commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18-member troop in Savannah, Ga. Celebrate with a troop party or just treat yourself to a cupcake in honor of the largest girl-led organization in the world.

Wednesday, March 13: Wear it Wednesday

Show off your Girl Scout pride all day long by wearing your best Girl Scout outfit! Did you know you only need to wear a Girl Scout pin to be considered “in uniform”? Put a pin on your shirt today or deck yourself in head-to-toe Girl Scout attire. Need some inspiration? Check out the Girl Scout online store and order some cute items just in time for spirit week.

March is Women’s History Month, making it the perfect time to reflect on the power of sisterhood. Write a letter to your future self or think about a female who has inspired you. As Girl Scouts, we see the power of women in action every day. Take a moment to say thank you to your inspiration or envision how you want to make the world a better place.
