Support Girl Scouts through Raise the Region

“Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA wants to ensure that all girls have the opportunity to develop the courage, confidence, and character they need to become successful leaders and help make the world a better place,” said Marisa Seubert, development grants and database manager for the organization.

You can help to further that mission by supporting Raise the Region, a 30-hour online giving campaign to raise money for local nonprofits. Raise the Region begins at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, and runs through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.

Proceeds from the program will benefit organizations with footholds in the northern part of Pennsylvania, including Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga and Union counties.

“Because our new satellite office in Williamsport is located in Lycoming County, we are eligible to participate in Raise the Region for the first time,” Seubert explained.

Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA has set a fundraising goal of $5,000 to benefit Girl Scouts within Lycoming County.

Donations start at $25. “For $25, you can provide one girl with a Girl Scout membership,” Seubert said. “For $50, you can empower a girl to learn through our STEM programs. For $100, you can help get one girl outside with outdoor activities. For $250, you can help a girl gain independence and explore fun at a camp session. There is a $25 minimum donation but no maximum amount for donations.”

Raise the Region is an initiative of First Community Foundation Partnership. In addition to the online giving platform, the campaign includes opportunities for stretch prizes and special incentives to extend donations. In 2023, 333 nonprofits raised $2.3 million through the program.

Girl Scouts in the Heart of PA is one of 351 nonprofits participating this year.

“With your tax-deductible support, you can empower our girls in Lycoming County,” Seubert said. “We appreciate your gift to building strong, independent women leaders for generations to come.”
