The Wild West meets modern-day camping as covered wagons arrived at Camp Furnace Hills in Lancaster County this past weekend.
These unique camping units blend rustic charm with modern comforts, offering campers amenities like heating, air conditioning, and electricity—all while embracing the spirit of outdoor adventure.

Made possible through partial grant funding from generous donors, including PPL, the wagons were crafted by Idaho-based Conestoga Wagon Company.
Inspired by the 18th-century wagons that once carried pioneers across the country, each unit features bunk beds, a wagon wheel table, and chairs, creating an unforgettable overnight experience.
The arrival of these wagons adds an exciting new way for girls to explore the outdoors, one of the four pillars of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Reservations may be made now for overnight stays beginning in March.
After an incredible cross-country journey last week, the wagons made their grand entrance at camp on Feb. 8. Check out the photos (below) from delivery day to see this exciting addition come to life.
