The leaves are changing, the air is crisp, and it’s the perfect time to add a little fall magic to your troop meetings. Whether your girls want something spooky, silly, or sweet, a fall-themed troop party is an easy way to celebrate the season, strengthen friendships, and make memories together. Consider these fun ideas!

Make pumpkin volcanoes: Blend science and fun in this experiment that incorporates STEM into your party.
Decorate cookies: Bake your own if you have access to a kitchen at your meeting or purchase sugar cookies the girls can decorate using icing and sprinkles in fall colors.
Put a twist on a Girl Scout tradition: Nothing’s better than sitting around a campfire on a cool, autumn evening, but you can bring the campfire indoors in this creative activity. Teach girls about fire safety while they construct an edible campfire. It’s a fun and tasty way to learn!
Create a gratitude tree: Gather sticks, a large vase, construction paper, yarn, a hole punch, and markers. Arrange the sticks in the vase and have girls write what they are thankful for on the construction paper. (Cut the paper into leaf shapes for some added fun.) Punch a hole in each piece and attach to the tree with yarn. Have each girl share what she wrote before she places her leaf on the tree.
Hold a scavenger hunt: Inside or outside, give girls a list of items to find, all related to fall. You might have them look for a red leaf, an acorn, or moss outside, or seek items you hide ahead of time indoors, such as paper pumpkins. Award prizes to the fastest finders.
Serve others: As Girl Scouts, we all strive to make the world a better place. Consider incorporating a service component into your party by charging “admission” of a canned good or other nonperishable item for a local food pantry.
Encourage girl leadership by sharing these ideas with your troop, gathering feedback, assigning party responsibilities, and soliciting input from girls on what they’d like to include in the party.
We’d love to see how your troop celebrates! Fill out a Mission Moment to be featured in an upcoming blog.
