Everyone should have the opportunity to be a Girl Scout, and that includes state legislators! Several women were welcomed into Troop PA, an honorary Girl Scout troop, during investiture ceremonies over the past few weeks.

Troop PA is a caucus of female Republican and Democrat members of the state General Assembly who have served as Girl Scouts or who support the Girl Scout program.

Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, who serves part of York County, was officially welcomed on March 28 during a ceremony at her York office. Numerous Girl Scouts and their leaders joined in the event as Hill-Evans became an honorary Girl Scout.

On April 1, State Rep. Tarah Probst participated from her Stoudsburg office. More than a dozen Girl Scouts and family members joined. Rep. Probst covers Monroe and Pike counties.

On April 3, State Sen. Rosemary Brown was welcomed in her Scotrun office. Brown represents parts of Lackawanna and Wayne counties as well as Monroe County.

At each event, Girl Scouts led the state official in reciting the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania President and CEO Janet Donovan shared remarks before the Girl Scouts presented the new Troop PA members with their Girl Scout pin.
