Isaac Tripp Elementary Academic Edge Girl Scouts in Scranton participated in the Tripp-Olympics during their program Feb. 20. Girls divided into three teams and chose a country for their team. They then used the word “friend” in that country’s language to cheer on their teammates. The games kicked off with the torch ceremony, and the three teams competed in:
Toboggan races: Three members of each team lined up in chairs. The person in the back chair moved her chair to the front of the line, continuing until a winner reached the finish line.
Biathalon: One member of each team walked quickly across the library to a designated chair with paper on it. Then, they competed by making a paper airplane and flying it over the silver line.
Musical bobsleds: Two members of each team played musical chairs until one person was left standing.
Curling: Two members—a skip and a lead—from each team participated. The skip placed a cheese curl on the lead’s forehead, and the lead had to get the cheese curl into her mouth without using her hands.
Every participant was awarded a tiny trophy for their efforts, and the girls had a great time while building stronger friendships!
